• Code Metal targets safety and compliance in code translation, which fits regulated settings such as defense. The funding note did not name agencies or prime contractors.
• Lack of contract detail makes the defense stream hard to size or judge. We do not know if the company holds prime awards or subcontracts, or which branches or programs it serves.

How contractors and software firms can tap DoD modernization budgets with AI code compliance wrappers

• Firms can bid on federal software modernization work that includes DoD by pairing with or building tools that verify and test AI-translated legacy programs. They also document the results.
