Polar, a monetization platform for developers, has secured US$10 million in a seed funding round led by Accel.

The round also included participation from Abstract, Mischief, and several angel investors, such as Guillermo Rauch (Vercel), Tobi Lütke (Shopify), and Sébastien Chopin (Nuxt).

The funding will be used to grow Polar’s remote-first team in Europe and strengthen its partnerships in the payments sector.

It will also enhance its focus on developer relations and partnerships in the payments sector.

Launched in September 2024, Polar has drawn over 17,000 signups and earned 5,300 GitHub stars.

The platform helps developers manage usage-based payments with features like automated tracking, billing, and compliance, all in an open-source format.

It primarily supports solo developers and small startups in scaling their businesses.
