Accel backs Indian marine robotics firm Rekise in $9.7m round
Rekise Marine, an Indian marine robotics startup based in Bengaluru that builds autonomous surface and underwater vessels, has raised $9.7 million in seed funding.
The round was led by Accel and NKSquared, the investment firm of Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath. Other investors also in the round.
The company was founded in 2017 by naval architect Maitrai Maka and Rear Admiral Shekhar Mital (Retd). It builds autonomous vessels for defense and commercial maritime use.
Its products include the autonomous surface vessels. It is also developing an extra-large autonomous underwater vehicle for extended missions.
Rekise said it works with shipyards including Goa Shipyard Limited and GRSE Limited.
