A16z leads funding round, valuing surveillance firm at $7.5b
Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, known as a16z, is leading a funding round for Flock Safety, a startup known for its license plate-reading cameras. The investment values the company at approximately US$7.5 billion.
The round is expected to raise about US$250 million, according to sources familiar with the situation.
Founded in 2017, Flock Safety specializes in surveillance technology, providing license plate-reading cameras to businesses, schools, and law enforcement agencies.
The company also offers data analysis and footage review services. It claims its technology is used in over 5,000 cities across the US.
