A16z joins AI ERP firm’s $70m series B
Rillet, an AI-native enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform for finance teams, has raised US$70 million in a series B round co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and ICONIQ.
The new funding brings Rillet’s total capital raised to over US$100 million in less than a year, following a US$25 million series A round announced just ten weeks prior.
The firm has offices in New York, San Francisco, and Barcelona.
Investors participating in this round include Sequoia and Oak HC/FT.
The company says the investment will support product development and expansion of its AI capabilities.
Andreessen Horowitz’s Alex Rampell and ICONIQ’s Seth Pierrepont will also join Rillet’s board as part of the deal.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Lightning-fast funding cycles signal urgent investor demand for AI transformation in stagnant markets
Rillet’s remarkable funding timeline, raising a $25 million Series A and then a $70 million Series B just 10 weeks later, reflects the intense investor urgency around AI-powered disruption of legacy enterprise software.
This compressed fundraising schedule is unusual even by Silicon Valley standards, where typical Series B rounds occur 12-18 months after a Series A.
The speed suggests investors recognize that accounting software represents a particularly vulnerable incumbent market, where foundational systems haven’t meaningfully evolved since NetSuite introduced cloud ERP in 1998 1.
With the global accounting software market valued at $19.4 billion in 2024 and projected to reach $31.25 billion by 2030, the opportunity to capture market share from established players like Oracle’s NetSuite and Microsoft’s Dynamics has attracted significant capital 2.
The rapid-fire funding demonstrates how AI-native approaches can create compelling differentiation to justify aggressive investor backing in traditionally slow-moving enterprise categories.
2️⃣ Perfect storm of talent shortage and automation potential creates generational opportunity
Rillet’s timing capitalizes on a rare convergence where massive labor shortage meets high automation potential in a critical business function.
