A16z joins $12m round for AI database startup Keewano
Tel Aviv-based Keewano, which develops database software for AI agents, launched KeewanoDB and said it raised US$12 million in seed funding led by Hetz Ventures.
Keewano said the database keeps each entity’s full sequence of business events together and in order.
The company said this lets AI agents investigate issues such as customer churn, compare user histories, and search for emerging patterns without engineers modeling every question in advance.
Other investors included a16z speedrun, Remagine Ventures, DIG Ventures, and angel investors.
Keewano said it was founded in 2024 by Mark Kardashov, Dima Karger, Pavel Bibergal, and Vitaly Bukhovsky. The founders previously built TestProject and Devalore and held senior roles at gaming company Plarium.
If customer event streams include personal data, using them with AI agents can trigger compliance duties under the General Data Protection Regulation, including purpose and storage limits.
