Chinese EV firm Xpeng is set to acquire Didi’s smart electric vehicle unit, entering into a strategic alliance. The deal, potentially worth around US$744 million, includes the launch of a new brand under Xpeng and strategic cooperation in areas such as marketing and finance. Xpeng shares rose by 13% on Monday.
