Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast’s shares surged in their Nasdaq debut following a merger with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). This is the largest M&A deal in Asia this year. Despite scrutiny over SPAC deals, VinFast’s stock opened at US$22, more than twice the final closing value of its SPAC partner, Black Spade Acquisition.
