Web chat service Omegle has closed after 15 years amid escalating misuse of the platform. Founded by an 18-year-old programmer in 2009, the site saw a surge of questionable activities during the pandemic. Last year, it reported 600,000 incidents of child sexual abuse that took place on its platform.
