Geopolitical tensions between China and the US have curtailed efforts to reduce the cost of electric vehicle batteries, according to Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group.

He said that the Biden administration’s policy of limiting the sourcing of materials needed in battery production from China has further complicated the situation.
