The UK’s media regulator, Office of Communications (Ofcom), has asked the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to conduct an antitrust investigation into Amazon’s and Microsoft’s grip on the country’s cloud market.

Concerns center around the difficulty that UK businesses face when using multiple cloud providers. AWS and Microsoft collectively held 70% to 80% of the country’s public cloud infrastructure services market in 2022.
