UK app developers, represented by Professor Sean Ennis from the University of East Anglia Centre for Competition Policy, are suing Apple for US$1 billion over “excessive” App Store fees.

Ennis claimed that the 15% to 30% commission Apple charges on in-app payments are only possible due to their monopoly on distributing apps onto Apple devices.
