Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will invest US$2.88 billion to construct a factory for AI chips in response to heightened demand from Nvidia and AMD.

With completion expected by end-2026, the Tongluo facility in Miaoli County, Taiwan is due to start mass production in 2027, creating 1,500 jobs.
