Silicon Box, a Singapore-based startup, has inaugurated a US$2 billion advanced semiconductor foundry, which is expected to generate 1,000 new jobs. The firm, co-founded by former leaders of US chipmaker Marvell, specializes in manufacturing small chips, or chiplets. The new Singapore factory intends to cater to rising demand from artificial intelligence companies.
