Emmett Shear, co-founder and former CEO of livestreaming platform Twitch, has been appointed by OpenAI’s board of directors as the generative AI firm’s interim CEO.

Meanwhile, Sam Altman will not return to the company despite efforts from some executives to bring him back. The shakeup also saw the removal of president Greg Brockman from the board.
