OpenAI will be licensing a collection of The Associated Press’ (AP) news stories under a recently agreed deal. In exchange, the news agency will capitalize on OpenAI’s tech expertise.

The partnership follows a rise in concerns about AI systems and copyright infringement, as well as scrutiny by the US Federal Trade Commission. The AP’s vast archive will serve as a resource for OpenAI’s models, which require extensive written work supplies to improve.
