MUFG Bank is among a trio of Japanese companies contributing to a US$290 million funding round for US space firm Sierra Space.

Kanematsu and Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance are also investing in the venture, which aims to establish a commercial spaceport in Japan’s Oita region.
