Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Platforms has launched Threads, a social media app set to rival Twitter. The new app, which does not have direct message capabilities, allows posts of up to 500 characters with links, photos, and videos of up to five minutes. With its strong ties to Instagram, analysts are hopeful that its huge potential user base will draw lucrative advertising revenue.
