Chinese food delivery titan, Meituan, is set to acquire Light Year, an AI startup co-founded by Wang Huiwen, in a deal worth US$234 million. This strategic acquisition will allow Meituan to compete with Chinese tech giants including Baidu, Tencent, and Alibaba in developing generative AI services.
