In 50 Words: Malaysia sets aside $1.77b for national industrial masterplan
The Malaysian government looks to spend US$1.77 billion to bolster the nation’s manufacturing sector in a masterplan to be introduced by 2030, aiming to up competitiveness of SMEs and to create high-skilled jobs.
The project will require around US$20.5 billion, mainly coming from the private sector, and it is expected to increase the manufacturing sector’s value by 6.5% in seven years.
