Malaysia has a keen interest in digitalizing its public services and moving to govtech, a commitment that has been emphasized by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

The initiative includes setting up a dedicated centre for govtech and consolidating databases, which currently costs 7 billion ringgit (US$1.5 billion) a year.

These projects are attracting interest from industry players like Catcha Digital’s Patrick Grove, who has announced the establishment of a govtech-focused business arm.
