Senior US House Republicans have called on the Biden administration to take stricter action against Huawei and Chinese chipmaker SMIC, as Huawei has reportedly developed an advanced smartphone.

The representatives asked that export licenses be blocked for such government-controlled firms, demanded stricter export controls, and proposed barring imports of SMIC-produced semiconductors, among others.
