Indonesia is encouraging US and European investors to contribute toward building its electric vehicle manufacturing capabilities, said Nurul Ichwan, the country’s deputy minister for investment promotion. Despite its abundant nickel resources – crucial for long-range EV batteries – Indonesia said that development of its EV industry is hindered by Western actions aimed at curbing China’s supply chain influence.
