An Indian tax panel has approved the implementation of a goods and services tax (GST) on online gaming and casinos effective from October 1. The 28% tax will apply at entry points and this policy will be revisited in six months. Over 100 online firms have called for the tax to apply to platform fees rather than face value to minimize volume impact.
