India is set to begin construction on its first semiconductor assembly plant next month, commencing domestic microchip production by end of 2024. This development is part of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi’s US$10 billion chipmaking initiative. US semiconductor company Micron Technology and several other suppliers are involved in the project.
