Hong Kong’s securities regulator and police have created a task force to track and investigate illegal activity on cryptocurrency exchanges.

This follows allegations that the unlicensed platform JPEX hae defrauded investors of around US$204 million. The initiative is also part of Hong Kong’s bid to establish itself as a global hub for regulated trading of digital assets.
