GIC, the Singaporean sovereign wealth fund, has appointed Lawrence Wong as its deputy chairman effective October 1.

Wong has been a director at GIC since 2018 and became chairman of its investment strategies committee earlier this year. He also currently serves as Singapore’s deputy prime minister and finance minister.
