Terry Gou, the billionaire founder of Apple supplier Foxconn, has stepped down from the company board, days after announcing his independent candidacy for Taiwan’s presidency. Gou’s campaign proposals focus on reducing antagonism towards China, but polls currently place him well behind Democratic Progressive Party’s William Lai.
