Former executives of OpenAI, including Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, will join Microsoft and head “a new advanced AI research team,” according to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

Nadella also reaffirmed Microsoft’s commitment to supporting OpenAI, which it has invested over US$10 billion in.

Altman was dismissed from OpenAI, the company he co-founded in 2015, by the firm’s board just a few days ago.
