Canada has banned Russian antivirus software Kaspersky and Chinese messaging platform WeChat from government-issued devices over security and privacy concerns.

Kaspersky said it was not given any opportunity to address the concerns raised by the Canadian government. Meanwhile, WeChat did not respond to Reuters’ request for comments.
