China’s BYD has set the retail price of its Dolphin electric vehicle in Japan at around US$24,500, offering a potential challenge to Japanese automakers that have been struggling amid the consumer shift to EVs.

BYD previously announced that its Dolphin model would be its second offering in the country, following the release of its Atto 3 vehicle.
