Chinese firm BYD Co has partnered with India’s Megha Engineering and Infrastructures to propose a US$1 billion investment to produce electric cars and batteries in India. The project, if approved, would entail manufacturing an entire range of BYD electric cars, from hatchbacks to luxury models, giving BYD a presence in all major vehicle markets except the US.
