In brief: Neuron takes its shared e-scooters to Malaysia

Neuron Mobility has launched its e-scooter sharing services in Malaysia as part of the company’s regional expansion plans.

The launch in Cyberjaya makes it the fourth major Southeast Asian city to offer Neuron’s ubiquitous personal mobility service, after Singapore, Bangkok, and Chiang Mai.

Singapore-based Neuron claims to operate the largest shared e-scooter fleet in Singapore and Thailand.

It will begin deploying e-scooters at key commercial spots in Cyberjaya, a science and tech district outside of Putrajaya, as part of a pilot to “assess feasibility and demand.”

Last month, Neuron raised US$3.66 million in seed funding from investors including 500 Startups, SeedPlus, Ace Capital, and Seeds Capital. The startup said at the time that it would expand to other cities throughout Southeast Asia in the near future.
