NCSoft is planning to release a Blade & Soul mobile game in Japan

NCSoft’s PC MMORPG Blade & Soul has taken the world by storm. Or at least the parts of the world that can currently play it; the game is unfortunately currently limited to just Korea and China. But the Blade & Soul series looks to be getting a little bit more mobile with the announcement that NCSoft has registered the name Blade & Soul: Spirit Adventure (that’s a very rough translation; there’s no official English title yet) for a mobile game.

And more interestingly, the name was registered in Japan, indicating that the mobile title will likely be released in Japan first. The announcement certainly adds some credence to the rumors that the regular Blade & Soul is finally approaching launch in Japan.

We don’t have many more details on the upcoming mobile game, but it could even be a cooperation with a Japanese company. Previously, NCSoft has released one other mobile adaptation of one of its popular MMORPGS (Lineage), and that game was produced in cooperation with Japan’s GREE. Could the two be working together on the Blade & Soul mobile game as well? I certainly wouldn’t discount the possibility.
