MyStorage team in front of their self storage facility
VIETNAM – 12 June 2023 – In the fall of 2019, MyStorage was opened by a team of German/American founders and became the mini storage pioneer in Ho Chi Minh City. Fast forward four years, and MyStorage has successfully expanded to four storage facilities with over 6,000 cubic meters in space, catering to diverse personal & business storage needs for the booming Vietnamese middle class.
The rapid and positive transformation in the mindset and behavior of Vietnamese people regarding their storage needs has been fascinating. “Four years ago, when I first arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, I needed storage for my own personal use, but when I asked the locals about a solution, I just got blank stares.”, shares Aric Austin, CEO & Founder of MyStorage. “Now our customers can easily book storage online from the comfort of their homes.”
Vietnam is a new market to the storage concept, but MyStorage has become the leading player both in terms of technology & marketing. Customers are able to complete a storage booking online, with the ability to choose between a variety of options. Private locker or shared warehouse, AC or no AC, with or without transportation and even including packing services if desired. MyStorage has also integrated a space calculator to help determine a customer’s storage requirements and on-the-road tracking software that allows customers to track pickups and drop offs of their belongings. Very soon, MyStorage will be launching a virtual locker app, which which will allow customers to view their stored items online and request returns with the click of a mouse.
On the marketing side, MyStorage was recently granted the award for most Creative & Effective Marketing among all Asian self-storage operators, organized by the Self-Storage Association of Asia. This award recognized MyStorage’s efforts to educate the Vietnamese consumer about the benefits of storage and the positive impact that giving yourself more space can have on both your personal and business environment.
MyStorage Background
Ho Chi Minh City is booming. It’s a mega-city with millions of people, all of whom are looking for their share of the economic miracle currently taking place in SE Asia. One of the most apparent signs of this amazing growth can clearly be seen in the frenetic pace of building – both new office towers and residential high rises.
What else happens when people start making more money? They start acquiring more ‘stuff’. Consumer electronics, clothes, sport equipment, home décor & furniture, etc. Gifts for family and friends, pets, bikes and cars.
For SMEs, self-storage offers advantages for companies looking to store documents, marketing materials, inventory, excess furniture and more. Rather than using an extra meeting room in an expensive central business district location, companies can utilize their space more effectively using MyStorage services.
About MyStorage:
MyStorage is the first and only storage service in Vietnam offering both traditional self-storage lockers & valet (shared warehouse) storage.
