In celebration of the Ramadhan fasting month, Indonesian marketplace Multiply is holding a “Cuci Gudang Gadget” program or in English, a “Gadget Garage Sale” program from July 18th to the 30th. Multiply is offering various discounted prices ranging from IDR 200,000 ($20) to IDR 2,250,000 ($225) for selected gadget products and accessories.
When we looked at the website sale program here (or pictured below), we saw the biggest discounts Multiply currently offers are for Samsung tablets. Those are the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1” 32GB (now IDR 4,800,000 or $480) and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9” 16GB (now IDR 3,800,000 or $380).
Multiply’s registered users need to click “activate discount code” under the desired product to receive an email with the discount code in it. For the user account to be eligible to use the code, though, they will need to go through some ‘check points’ first, such as sharing about the program on Facebook. After that, users are urged to make their purchases immediately using the code because the products on sale are limited in number. But one big problem is that each Multiply account can only use one discount code.
The campaign aspires to strengthen Multiply’s 3C – aka: electronics – category, which is not its strongest field yet, in light of the serious competition brought by the other Indonesian e-commerce websites such as Kaskus and Tokobagus.
