It is practically impossible to keep track or comprehend the mood of people in your social circle. Simple text, hashtags and even smileys are not that effective to expressing our mood. We need a tool that helps us tell the world how we are feeling. Moodler, an India-based start-up, is the service I’m placing my bet on.
Moodler is believed to be the world’s first social mood tracker and delivers a new twist in microblogging. Unlike Twitter, where the constant stream of tweets makes it practically impossible to keep track or understand users’ mood, Moodler provides users with a ‘mood graph’ of everyone in the network.
“With a 350 character limit for each post, Moodler allows for greater freedom and quality of postings. Besides, we allow users to embed video links from YouTube and Vimeo in a post. Moodler is also integrated with Twitter and Facebook, which makes it easy to post updates onto all these networks,” Siddharth S Kumar, Co-founder of Moodler told Penn Olson.
With Moodler you get a snapshot of everyone’s mood in your network. So, if one of your friend’s mood indicator shows a coffee icon (and if you too feel like having coffee too), connecting becomes easy. Moodler keeps track of your mood, the mood of everyone in your network, and also provides you data on what mood the whole community is in.
Moodler has a polling feature too. This feature allows you to ask for opinion on anything. For example if you want to know how many people wish to go on a holiday, all you need to do is update your status asking people to poll. The mood graph gives an instant analysis of the response, and depending on the percentage of smiling faces to sad faces, you will realize whether it’s ‘happening’ or not. Plus, with Twitter and Facbook integration, Moodler offers people to update their mood status together on both platforms.
For businesses, Moodler offers the application called “Guestbook” (available for free), which helps brands to get an instant analysis of its followers via the Mood Graph. Brands can engage directly with users through the app as well. The application is currently adopted by brands including Toyota, Intel & Grundfos.
Moodler has so far been discovered by people from over 107 countries. It currently has registered users from countries including Canada, China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Israel, Philippines, Taiwan, UK & USA. Speaking directly to Moodler‘s Co-founder, Siddharth S Kumar, he revealed that Moodler’s mobile version is on its way.
“You will wonder how you got along without Moodler. This year, we expect Moodler to be the dominant social mood tracker and polling platform for the web and internet-enabled devices,” he added.
