Jobs listings show Uber prepping launches in Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong

Uber launched in Taipei at the end of June.

A new job posting on a Shanghai-based site shows that the American online car booking service Uber is hiring in China ahead of a launch in the country. The ad for a Uber community manager for Shanghai (here) is the first visible move in the country by the company.

Indeed, Uber’s own in-house jobs board reveals that they’re hiring across Beijing and Hong Kong as well as Shanghai.

Uber currently operates in three cities across Asia – Singapore, Taipei, Seoul – and is understood to be keen to add Hong Kong and mainland China to that list. Now the wheels are set in motion for this.
