The fresh investment will be used to create new business and bolster digital transformation.
Super Studio offers a direct-to-consumer support platform that can be used to help build online stores. To guide its entrepreneurial customers, the startup also provides a range of services including consultations, support for advertising operations, big data analysis, and direct product delivery.
The company, which has named its ecommerce services “ecforce,” said that the number of stores in Japan using similar tools shot up by around 174% over the past year. Super Studio was established by Kohsuke Hayashi in 2014.
Headquartered in Tokyo, MUFG has 3,000 locations across 50 countries and is listed on the Nagoya, Tokyo, and New York stock exchanges.
The latest investment comes amid growing demand for ecommerce services. The global market is set to reach US$4.15 trillion by the end of the year, with a compound annual growth rate of 11.35%.
