Wavemaker backs $3m round of Vietnamese edtech firm

MindX, a Vietnam-based coding school, has raised US$3 million in its latest round.

  • Beacon Fund also participated in the round as a debt investor.
  • Since its inception in 2015, MindX has taught coding to over 25,000 students through its online platform and 13 brick-and-mortar locations.
  • In a statement, the company says that it has been profitable for the past six years.
  • The edtech firm plans to use the fresh money to continue developing its online platform and bring its courses to second- and third-tier cities in Vietnam. It also wants to onboard more employer partners – firms that can potentially hire its coding graduates – from Singapore, Japan, and the US.
  • In 2019, MindX raised US$500,000 in a funding round led by ESP Capital.
