Inside the Minds of Local Indonesian Investors [#StartupAsia Preview]

As June draws close, I’m getting excited about our Startup Asia Jakarta conference. With all the buzz we’re hearing about Indonesia, what do you think about a panel where we tap into the minds of Indonesian investors for thoughts about the local startup scene? Exciting, yes?

On day two of our Startup Asia Jakarta conference, we’re going to have the kakak laki-laki (meaning big brothers in Bahasa Indonesia) in the Indonesian startup tech scene on stage with us, discussing about the potential they see in local startups. Few people know the local scene better than these guys. Here’s a sneak peak at their profiles:

Antonny Liem, CEO of Merah Putih Incubator (MPI)

Antonny LiemAntonny is from Merah Putih Incubator (MPI), the first digital incubator company in Indonesia that focuses on investing and incubating e-commerce, social media, gaming, and mobile related startups. Since its official launch in middle of 2010, MPI has been incubating eight companies, and has successfully nurtured them to become leaders in their respective areas within the market.

Antonny was also involved as senior partner in several major digital and marketing establishments in Indonesia, such as Kaskus Networks and Merah Cipta Media (MCM) group. Kaskus is the largest Indonesian community website, with more than four million registered users and more than 900 million page views per month. MCM is a leading group in branding, marketing, and online media services.

Andi S. Boediman, director at Ideosource

Andi S. BoedimanAndi is the director at Ideosource, a venture capital firm focusing on digital industries, including content, media, e-commerce, and digital infrastructures. His recent investment is Touchten, a game company that produces successful games such as Sushi Chain and Hachiko.

In his previous role as the chief innovation officer of Plasa.com, Andi has successfully brought on eBay and Microsoft to form partnerships with Plasa. As the key strategist, he is responsible for the company’s foundation, from envisioning the road map, to creating a business model, to setting up the team.

Kevin Mintaraga, co-founder of Project Eden

Kevin MintaragaKevin works in XM Gravity as a strategic partner and consultant who provides advice and transformation solutions to businesses through a technological approach. He also handles media marketing and investment in the digital world.

Kevin is also engaging and contributing to the nation’s technology startup scene through Project Eden, a pre-seed investment firm that supports the local community in launching new tech startups.
