Assemblr, an Indonesia-based augmented reality (AR) company, has launched a web-based metaverse that serves as a social hub.
Called Assemblr Metaverse, the hub lets users meet with clients or colleagues, work with each other, and watch movies together, among other activities.
The platform has avatar customization and virtual spaces. It also has social features where users can share media like images, video, or 3D animations.
Hasbi Asyadiq, founder and CEO of Assemblr, tells Tech in Asia that users can access the metaverse using only a web browser. They can interact with each other through voice and chat features as well as transact in the platform’s virtual spaces.
“People don’t need to install any app or own a VR headset to explore the virtual world. But if they have the headset, it will be even better,” he adds.
According to Asyadiq, Assemblr Metaverse would soon launch a collaboration with 15 intellectual properties and brands, with names like Vernalta and Tekotok joining the lineup.
The startup hopes its metaverse platform can help companies optimize creativity and collaboration, as well as expanding audience reach through AR. “For the next phase, we will give options for people to rent or purchase virtual spaces for them to decorate,” Asyadiq shares.
