Meta on Aug. 10 introduced Muse Glimmer, a 30-billion-parameter AI model that can run on a single graphics processing unit (GPU).

Users can download and customize the model, with its weights available on Hugging Face, as Meta seeks wider use of its AI tools.

Meta said Muse Glimmer is a distilled version of Muse Spark 1.2, designed for efficiency and agent-like tasks such as managing schedules and organizing files.

There is no download fee, though users must cover their own computing costs.

The company also said it plans to release the weights for a more powerful version of Muse Spark.

The permissive licensing approach mirrors moves by Chinese AI companies including DeepSeek, Moonshot, and Alibaba Group, which have used open or accessible models to encourage adoption.
