Meet the 5 new retail innovators in Target accelerator’s latest batch

shopping retail target

Startups are sexy because of their disruptive potential. The successful ones upset status quo, change how things are done, and dethrone the giants of industry. In today’s competitive climate, smart corporations are on the prowl for innovators who can give them an edge. Global retail major Target is doing that through its accelerator program in India.

It picks young startups in the retail space, helps them develop their product during a four-month immersive program, and provides a platform to test their products. It’s an inorganic way for Target to spot and add innovations.

Today, the Target accelerator in Bangalore announced its third batch of startups to help retailers serve customers better or manage their business more efficiently. Here they are:

Findmeashoe

Findmeashoe

Like the name suggests, Findmeashoe helps users pick appropriate footwear. Founded by Anand Ganesan and Shabari Raje, Findmeashoe uses a proprietary algorithm to simulate a virtual fitting session. The product makes ample use of 3D scanning technology and a need-based product search engine to create a customized shopping catalog.

TimeFlex

This startup is in stealth mode currently. According to the announcement from Target, TimeFlex provides “cloud-based monitoring for micro environments.” That’s all they are willing to reveal right now.

BugClipper

Bugclipper

It checks apps for bugs and creates bug reports with screenshots, device details, and screen recordings. Founded by software engineer Puneet Sharma, BugClipper is for iOS apps right now.

Discover Dollar

discover dollar

This Bangalore-based startup has developed a tech tool to tackle problems of over-payment in the retail space and provide real-time analytics. This, Discover Dollar says, would help retailers recover lost money and also save on expensive delays in the traditional auditing process to plug such leaks.
