Grab expands partnership with McDonald’s Singapore

Grab and McDonald’s Singapore have announced a multifaceted partnership to improve the quick service restaurant experience in Singapore.

McDonald’s has had tie-ups with GrabFood since 2018, but this partnership is beyond food delivery. It includes the integration of GrabPay and GrabRewards with McDonald’s online and in-store ordering experience and the expansion of McDonald’s on-demand delivery capabilities through GrabExpress. The partnership will also see the two firms design improved online and in-store consumer experiences through shared insights and Grab’s advertising solution.

GrabPay is now accepted as a payment option across all McDonald’s stores islandwide and on the McDelivery app and website. Consumers can pay with GrabPay over the counter or via self-ordering kiosks and drive-thru transactions. This gives them more ways to earn GrabRewards points, which can be used to redeem McDonald’s vouchers and merchandise on the GrabRewards catalogue.

“By tapping Grab’s ecosystem of services, it adds to our promise of greater digital convenience and accessibility for our customers, so they can enjoy their McDonald’s favorites seamlessly. It also opens up the world of McDonald’s to more Grab users,” said Benjamin Boh, general manager of McDonald’s Singapore.

In the city-state, McDonald’s has a network of over 130 restaurants, 17 drive-thru locations, 42 dessert kiosks, and 48 McCafe outlets.

“By leveraging our combined strengths, we hope to elevate the consumer experience and unlock more growth opportunities together,” said Yee Wee Tang, managing director of Grab Singapore.
