Malaysia’s AirAsia sets up new arm to merge its media solutions
Called the AirAsia Media Group, the newly formed unit will act as a marketing solutions partner that integrates data and content focusing on Asian travel and pop culture. It aims to provide those solutions to brands through its own adtech platform.
The move also opens up more job opportunities across several functions in the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia, the report said.
As the global crisis continues to keep people inside their homes, AirAsia is expanding its business beyond just providing affordable flights.
The company’s board recently approved the formation of Asia Digital Engineering, an AirAsia unit that would consolidate its engineering personnel. It acts as an independent maintenance and repair arm that would service all the company’s group airlines and third-party airlines.
In August, AirAsia also partnered with digital travel platform Agoda to provide travel bundles, membership privileges, and joint product marketing across their platforms.
