Malaysia gets Super Mario Mcdonald’s Happy Meal toys, is the envy of the region (UPDATED)

UPDATE 16-05-2014: McDonald’s outlets in Singapore are also serving up the Super Mario toys!

From this week on, Happy Meals bought in Malaysian and Singaporean McDonald’s outlets will include plastic Super Mario figurines. There are eight in total to collect, with two being given out each subsequent week.

Six of the eight figures feature Mario in various poses or guises; the other two figurines are of Princess Peach and Yoshi.

This week’s toys are “Mario with Pipe” and Peach, while next week’s are “Mario with ? Block” and Yoshi. Subsequently, you’ll be able to collect “Mario with Goal Pole” and fire-flower-activated Mario, as well as Penguin and Boomerang Mario.

You’d best grab some friends and gear up for a month of McDonald’s if you’re living in (or near) Singapore and Malaysia! The rest of you don’t have to resign yourselves to fate, though.

We’ve also taken the liberty of contacting McDonald’s head office to see if they can shed any light on how each country picks its Happy Meal toys. We’ll report back if we hear anything!
