Looking to combat air pollution and climate change, California-headquartered Clarity provides air quality-monitoring solutions to governments, businesses, and organizations with real-time localized monitoring and expert services.
The company said its devices, known as nodes, replace traditional pollutant measurement stations with reliable and accurate results within minutes using solar power and cellular communication.
Clarity has installed thousands of nodes in more than 60 countries, including the US, the UK, Singapore, and the Philippines. Its customers include cities, states, school districts, mining companies, ports, sporting leagues, and automobile clubs.
Amasia managing partner Ramanan Raghavendran said 24 Clarity nodes cost the same as maintaining one mile of a highway annually. “At relatively low cost, governments and businesses can determine the kind of pollutants in the air, the concentration of these pollutants, and where they are coming from,” he said.
Clarity said the fresh funds will support its growth worldwide and accelerate its product development to address climate change.
