MALAYSIA – 4 JUN 2025 – LocalPasar, a startup born on a farm and forged in the trenches of Malaysia’s fragmented food supply chain, has launched a B2B SaaS platform that aims to transform how restaurants manage fresh produce suppliers—digitising an industry still reliant on WhatsApp messages and manual stocktakes.

What began as a vegetable farm delivering produce across the Klang Valley has grown into a tech-driven business with a clear mission: to eliminate inefficiencies in the F&B supply chain and help restaurants take back control of their procurement process.

“We didn’t start out building software,” said Oliver Wong, founder of LocalPasar. “We started by living the same pain our customers feel—missed deliveries, disorganised stock, poor traceability. The tech came later, as a solution to a very real, very messy problem.”

From Distribution Chaos to Digital Clarity

Initially operating as a farm and logistics provider, LocalPasar quickly realised that the real challenge wasn’t just growing good produce—it was getting it to the right hands on time. Restaurants were juggling orders across multiple platforms, suppliers operated in silos, and no one had a clear picture of what was happening when.

In response, LocalPasar built its own internal tools to streamline supplier coordination. Those tools are now evolving into a full-fledged B2B platform—offering F&B outlets a single place to manage orders, communicate with suppliers, and keep track of stock and deliveries.

Why Now?

Digitisation in F&B supply chains is accelerating globally, with players like Choco and Fresho leading in the West. But in Southeast Asia, the space remains largely untapped. Malaysia, with its decentralised supplier base and rising demand for efficiency in F&B operations, presents the perfect launchpad.

“We’re not just digitising procurement,” Oliver Wong added.
“We’re building the connective tissue for Southeast Asia’s food ecosystem—linking farms, suppliers, and restaurants in a way that’s never been done before.”

Early Momentum

  • Over 10,000 kgs of produce delivered each month
  • Trusted by over 100 grocers, cafés, and restaurants since launch
  • Currently onboarding Klang Valley, Penang and Johor-based restaurants to the new platform

What’s Next

With a pipeline of F&B businesses eager to ditch outdated workflows, LocalPasar is focused on rapid adoption across Malaysia’s urban centres. The team is also exploring strategic partnerships to accelerate tech development and expand into neighbouring markets.

LocalPasar is looking to connect with restaurant operators, tech collaborators, and investors who believe the future of food is local, digital, and built from the ground up.
