LingoTalk, a language-learning platform based in Indonesia, has raised an undisclosed amount from Iterative Capital and Singapore’s first edtech accelerator Eduspaze.

Backed by an AI recommendation system, LingoTalk’s platform teaches users to speak different languages. Users can choose to do individual or group tutoring, and the service offers personalized schedules, modules, and videos. The firm has 10 language courses, including French, Arabic, Japanese, and Spanish.
Founded in 2020 by Andre Benito and Hardi Wijaya, LingoTalk is a graduate of the Startup Studio Indonesia Batch 2 accelerator program held by Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
LingoTalk, with over 5,000 active users, has partnered with more than 150 schools in Indonesia, offering its platform to be used in language classes. The company said it also wants to reach more schools in the Sumatran and Javanese provinces.
LingoTalk will use the new funds to strengthen its youth-targeted offering, LingoJunior, which is suited for students from ages three to 12. The new capital comes as the global edtech industry is projected to grow to US$319.7 billion by 2029 at a compound annual growth rate of 17.8%.
